It's strange looking back at photographs from a wild afternoon as they never seem to capture the full ferocity of the weather. I suppose that's why it's important to always carry a small sketchpad and a piece of charcoal.
You wouldn't know from these photographs that I was either holding onto the car or fence posts to hold myself upright and that sea spray was blowing over the cliff tops as well as onto parts of the road. My lips tasted incredibly salty when I got back home and my camera needed a good clean.
Photographs taken from Burwick, South Ronaldsay at around 3pm today.
