down at the beach

It's hard to believe we've had over a week of beautiful, calm weather... in January! I can't help but think this must be the calm before the storm.

I have no idea why the last photo uploaded sideways, but there you go.

a day out in Orphir

Yesterday was the first stunning day of 2016: calm and clear with glassy reflections in the water. I really love the quality of light at this time of year on a good day. For a change of scenery I decided to look across Scapa Flow from Orphir on the west mainland.

Happy new year! I was pretty useless at keeping this website updated last year; hopefully I'll do better in 2016. I still have finished pieces from last year to share so I'm kicking myself into action today.
